Ronnie Guerra
6th grade math teacher
Donna Wernecke Elementary
I would like to welcome you to Mr. R. Guerra's website.  This is my 13th year working for the Sharyland Independent School District and my 13th  year at Wernecke Elementary.  This will be my 28th year of being a teacher.  I was a 6th grade Math Teacher at Alamo Middle School for 15 years.  I was also a football, boys and girls soccer and track coach at AMS for 15 years and an Alamo Wolverines Boys Varsity soccer coach for 4 years.  I graduated from the University of Texas Pan American and a high school graduate of PSJA High School.
I have been married for 23 years to my  wife Martha.  I have 2 great kids:Matthew, 21 years old and Lauren 16 years old.  My daughter Lauren is an 11th grader at Sharyland Pioneer High School. She is a flute player for the Diamondback band, the drum major for Pioneer and she will also be playing soccer for the Lady Diamondbacks. She will be a Junior and playing varsity for the third year. My son Matthew was a student at SMU University in Dallas and is now a transfer student to UTRGV in Edinburg where he is a Senior, he will be doing a double major of accounting and financing. Matthew works as an Insurance agent at a local insurance agency.
I also can't forget my Labrador Kate, she was named after Princess Kate. Kate is 4 yrs old and she loves fetching her ball and taking walks just to explore.  She is a wonderful dog. My son got a red nose pitbull that just turned one year old and he is very playful. Our pitbull is named Becks.
Please feel free to come and talk to me whenever you have a concern about your son or daughter in math class. There are 2 things that I work on, Trust and Respect.  I feel that with these 2 things many good things will happen and everything else will fall into place.  Thank you for allowing me to teach your kids and I really feel this will be a great and tremendous year.   Go Diamondbacks!!!!!! I have the honor of teaching some students in course 2, 7th grade math and course 1 the sixth grade curriculum.  The students will be working a lot in class and they will have their books here in class, they will be able to tear out their homework pages and take them home as well.
My main objective is to make every student feel comfortable and confident in math. My main job is to prepare them for the Jr. High experience and 7th grade. Thank you for all your support and please feel free to call me during my conference or send me an e-mail. I feel that if we work together, our year will be smooth and very rewarding. I will also be coaching the intramurals in volleyball, soccer and track.
